 Assistant Professor

Profile

I'm a Molecular Biologist working as an Assistant Professor at The Department of Biological Science at King Abdulaziz University (KAU). I have a Doctorate Degree in Molecular Biology from Clark Atlanta University (CAU), Atlanta, GA, USA approved by the Center for Cancer Research and Therapeutic Department (CCRTD) to work on cancer research area.

I have 12 years of teaching experience (9 years at KAU and 4 years at CAU) and I taught different Biology classes, such as General Biology, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Genetics, Molecular Biology for undergraduate students.

My research area is focusing on identification of target genes and proteins contributing developing cancer cells. The next step is to identify and design new drugs to suppress the target genes to prevent cancer development. This research area is interesting because every day scientists discover new genetic interactions that might be responsible for tumor development and progression which shed the lights on new methods to fight cancer and survive.

I always welcome dedicated Biology/Biomedical Science students, who have a strong passion toward this research area. I'm also willing to collaborate with Computer Science students to work on Bioinformatic projects.

Areas of expertise

Industrial Microbiology The production of bio products from microorganisms
Genetic and Protein Engineering Modify genes and proteins of interest to study their biological roles in the cell.
Bioinformatics Obtaining and managing biological data and analyzing it statistically to check how significant the data is.
استكشاف الأدوية Analyzing protein and biochemical compounds that have significant medical impacts via computer softwares and look for target small molecules, such as inhibitors, to suppress target genes/proteins to treat medical problems.
